This is one of the most beautiful blankets we've ever seen. Not only is it thoughtfully produced (see above), but its design is delightfully inventive. The Tracks blanket is reversible, and in the rectangles where the pattern disappears on one side, the pattern is revealed on the other.
It's soft, it's warm, and it's a blanket that's sure to become an heirloom.
This product should be treated like a lovely woollen sweater.
Washing: One of the good qualities of wool is that it can be aired as a form of cleaning. Dew and frost are especially cleansing. If washing, we recommend an environmentally friendly wool detergent. Wash the product in lukewarm water in a large basin or bathtub. Soak it in the water for 15-30 minutes. Wash it by pressing, not rubbing, as the wool felts and causes the product to diminish. Rinse thoroughly and press the water out, then spin dry briefly and lay or hang it to dry. If necessary, the blanket can withstand steam-ironing.
Stain Removal: It's possible to remove coffee stains and the like by using a clear environmentally friendly liquid fabric detergent. Wet the affected area with water, drip the liquid detergent on the area in question without rubbing it in, leave it for 30 minutes, rinse without rubbing too much, then allow it to dry.
Dry Cleaning: This blanket can be dry-cleaned, but that is not to be recommended as most dry-cleaning is not environmentally friendly.
Storage: If this blanket is to be stored for a longer period, it should be put in a tightly sealed plastic bag along with a piece of cedar wood to keep moths away.
Fluffiness: With use, the wool in this blanket will become fluffy. (Fluffiness is a natural healthy process for clean wool and biodynamic wool is clean.) If desired, the fluff can be removed by shaving the surface or by brushing it with an ordinary comb or brush.
Recycling: This item can be recycled if it is worn or one no longer wishes to possess it. Simply pass it on to a thrift shop, for example, or to a company that unravels the wool to reuse it for a new yarn or to fill a soft toy or the like.
