These utensils are sturdy and strong, and are great replacement for standard plastic cutlery. The forms feel great in the hand, and are perfect for handling all types of foods. And their pearlescent surface lends an uncommon elegance.
Made from CPLA (Crystalized Polylactic Acid), an earth-friendly, renewable material, these are fully reusable, and suitable for hot foods up to 185° F. Each piece features the word "Compostable" stamped on the handle, fulfilling a requirement of biodegradable/compostable plastics in certain municipalities.
These pieces have a five-year shelf life when stored in dry environments. They meet the ASTM D6400 specification for compostable plastic, which means they will compost rapidly and safely in a municipal or commercial composting facility. They're also BPI (Biodegradable Products Institute) certified by the US Composting Council. Even the bags in which they're packed are compostable.
